Em 2013, a cidade teve um forte encontro com a Arte Urbana. E o 1º Festival Concreto chega promovendo experiências, o colorir vira pauta na rua e vivência em cada esquina – um olhar para os muros e se encantar com as possíveis e belas poéticas urbanas. Inicia-se aí, uma cultura urbana de intercâmbio entre artistas locais, nacionais e outros de 7 países das Américas e Europa objetivando a troca de experiências e saberes, com o desafio de fazer arte em todo canto. Foram realizadas exposições, intervenções, workshops, oficinas e palestras, técnicas e linguagens, como o muralismo, o grafite, a música e a dança fazendo uso da cidade como principal suporte. As atividades foram realizadas simultaneamente em diferentes pontos da cidade, e congregaram comunidades e gerações em um único evento. Toda a programação foi gratuita e contou com a participação de 117 artistas nacionais e internacionais que juntos produziram 40 pontos de intervenções, 12 vídeos, 2 seminários, duas exposições, 8 shows, “pintura ao vivo” da artista paulista Beatriz Flor, uma edição especial do Baião Ilustrado.
O Festival chegou, já na sua primeira edição, transformando a capital cearense em um “museu a céu aberto”. Entre os artistas presentes: Mart Aire da Argentina, Borondo da Espanha, Cuco do Maranhão e uma narrativa de presença (ou não) do Banksy no Ceará, um e-mail teria dado conta da confirmação da sua presença no evento. Um dos pontos altos do Festival Concreto foram as grandes pinturas, entre elas: o grafite do artista plástico Rafael Limaverde, do cearense Ioda e do paraense Rodrigo Arab no tombado bem do Farol do Mucuripe; além de intervenções no muro da esquina da avenida Antônio Sales com rua Tibúrcio Cavalcante, no Porto Iracema da Artes e o live painting de painéis afixados logo abaixo do planetário do Dragão do Mar. “A coragem maior é fazer um trabalho desse porte ser todo ligado a uma melhoria de qualidade de vida para a cidade e pensado para galera que curte e pratica arte urbana”, afirma Narcélio Grud, idealizador e organizador do evento.

In 2013,Fortaleza had a meeting with Urban Art. The 1st Festival Concreto arrives promoting experiences, colors and shapes become the talk on the streets, an experience at every corner.A look at the walls and dreams of urban poetry that may come true. It´s the beginning of an urban culture of exchange between local, national and international artists coming from 7 countries of the Americas and Europe. They have the challenge of making art all around the city. Exhibits , interventions, workshops and talks were held. Techniques and languages like Muralism, Graffiti , Music and Dance all used the city as their main canvas and stage. The activities were held simultaneously in different parts of the city, they congregated communities and generations in one single event. All functions were free and they involved 117 artists from Brazil and abroad, that together produced 40 intervention points, 12 videos, 2 seminars,2 exhibits , 8 concerts, 1 live painting session by São Paulo artist Beatriz Flor,and 1 special performance by the Baião Ilustrado Group. The Festival Concreto on its opening edition, transformed the Ceará State capital into an “outdoor art museum.” Among the artists who came for the Festival:Mart Aire from Argentina, Borondo from Spain, Cuco , a Brazilian artist from Maranhão State and the narrative about the coming (or not) of famous artist Banksy to Ceará State. An e-mail message supposedly confirmed his attendance to the Festival. Some of the highlights of the 1st Festival Concreto, were the great paintings. Among them, a Graffiti by artist Rafael Limaverde, and another one by Ceará State artist Ioda. The Pará State artist Rodrigo Arab painted on The Farol do Mucuripe Lighthouse, a heritage-listed building. Also, interventions on the wall at the corner of Antônio Sales Avenue and Tibúrcio Cavalcante Street, at The Porto Iracema Das Artes School, and the live painting of panels located underneath the Dragão Do Mar Planetary . “The greatest act of courage here is to turn works of these proportions, into works that contribute for the improvement of quality of living in this city, works produced by those who enjoy and make urban art” says Narcélio Grud, the creator and executive producer of the event.
